At last, I have spent the day in my studio (my lovely clean studio) I have done some decorative work on the salad bowls I am making. They have lovely patterns impressed on them and then some added shell shapes as well, I’m ok with them. I am going to add feet to them as well, which I have done on one so far. THEN I decided some salad servers wouldnt go astray either. So now I am making spoons to go with them. Some with porcelain handles and some with driftwood handles they look fantastic. So all in all a good day in the studio, with the rain outside the music blaring and all clean and tidy waiting to be messed up again. Freo tomorrow and lots to look at in the old town. Looking forward to a wander around.

IMG_0372Hi everyone, this piece is one of my favourites, its down in Busselton at the Courthouse Gallery and I find it to be a fun piece. Terracotta of course, which I dont use very often and the found objects just all work together I think. UPCYCLING at its finest. I have started new work in my studio this week. At the moment I am working on seaside salad bowls with salad servers as well. Its my way of trying to keep warm in the studio as its been very cold here in the South-West. I am trying to stay in Summer mode. I am working on a small range of functional ceramics for an exhibition in August. I am glad to be back in the studio and producing I didnt realise how much I had missed it. The last couple of weeks I have had to be content reading about everyone else doing fabulous work over at the MUD COLONY blogsite. Not anymore Iam back and energised. Hopefully lots of new work. I am off to Fremantle this weekend for some inspiration (not to watch football!!) so hopefully will have some nice photos to show you when I get back. Keep warm…..

IMG_0378OMG….I cant believe its been so long since I posted anything. There are two reasons, maybe three. 1. I’ve ben sick with the flu, yuk !!! Its taken me weeks to recover, I’m still coughing, so of course no work has been done. 2. My kiln has still not been fixed as I’m waiting on a part from America. 3. I had to clean out my workshop. Well one out of three ain’t bad!! I’ve spent the time cleaning out my workshop. It had been a long and labororious job. (Is that a word!) But as you can see I’m about to start work again, I’m nearly recovered, the workshops clean and it wont be long before I can fire again. Things are hopefully on the turn.

IMG_0373I have spent the day at Artgeo in Busselton, it was so cold, only 17 degrees, which is not cold for some of you but for me it was freezing. I only had a few come through the door, naturally most people were in warm coffee shops and not breezy galleries. This photo is of one of my pieces on show at the Courthouse Gallery in Busselton. Dosnt it look beautiful sailing away……
