Well my ongoing blogging career is very poor!!  I also use instagram and fb but find I am very slack as to looking after my poor blog!

But I will make an effort to update you about my studio/gallery and everything that has been happening since my last post!WGCK4653

I recently did a exhibition in Fremantle at Bitches Brew Gallery in High Street.  It was a exhibition about enviromental awareness and I was lucky enough to be included with two other artists who also work with found objects.   Virginia Casey & Janine Mathews.  It was lovely to see others making found objects into artforms.

I also had a few days in beautiful Bali to warm up as this Winter has been very cold and I cant wait for Spring!!!!!    Ive been doing a few Winter Workshops which have been great fun!    The next workshop is on Saturday in September and then it will be Christmas Workshops in November!   So if your interested please contact me sidie1@bigpond.com

I have been trying to do professional social media updates regularly (not my poor blog!) and I seem to be getting good feedback from these, but its so time consuming!!!    It can take up to an hour out my day everyday just to do emails & social media updates but unfortunately for a poor artist its the best way to get word of myself out there!     I will keep you posted…..

It’s been a very busy time at Tracie Anderson Ceramics!  I have opened a new exhibition with the incredible Sharon Hinchliffe at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery which runs until the 25/02/18 Whew!!! and if that wasn’t enough I was accepted into the annual South-West Survey 2018, so am madly finishing my piece for that and if THAT’S not enough, trying to keep my little studio/gallery in Busselton up to date, ship shape & have lots to look at!

This is just a titbit of the art that is at the exhibition and below I have included some of Sharons paintings as well.  It has been a fun & satisfying collaboration and I hope we have a successful run at Bunbury Regional Art Gallery.

Hi everyone!     I thought I’d better make the effort to update my blog.  Sorry but I have been so busy making & doing! that I sometimes neglect my social media commitments!!!  As most of you guys know its hard to keep up with website, instagram, FB & blog!!  I’m just hoping that they don’t come up with anything else otherwise I will really be in trouble!  As I’ve told you before I have the studio at the Artgeo complex in Busselton Western Australia, I’ve been busy doing the chrissy things like tree decos & signs & little trees etc..   You can check out my artwork on either FB or instagram under #tracieandersonceramics  Hoping everyone has a safe & happy Christmas and gives & receives lots of peace & love.    See you all in the New Year….

Hi All,  Just wanted to give you a quick view of the studio/workshop & also of the gorgeous foreshore down here in Busselton.    There has been a steady flow of people coming into have a browse and a chat!!  I enjoy talking to them & showing how I do things in my workshop.  It’s amazing how little people know about the process of claywork and firing/glazing etc.  I think I must take it all for granted and so its been nice to explain the process for them.  I intend to do some workshops after Christmas, so people that are interested will become familiar with clay and what you can do with it.  The possibilities are endless and for me I try not to drift off onto different paths as there are so many that you can follow!!!!  I have always been drawn to the coast and because I use found objects in my work I am happy to keep to a coastal theme and follow where that leads me.

Last night was the opening of “Ombre” a feast of visual arts that was all brought together by the unbelievable talents of the Bunbury Art Connect group.  It was held at Bunbury Entertainment Centre and was a collaboration of painting, mixed media, dance and performance, music and fashion.  What a night!!    But it worked and the audience was treated to a glut of art in all forms.

I was lucky enough to be a contributor to the weekend and I was proud to have been chosen to participate in a show that hopefully will be back next year and be bigger and better.  Its not often that artists get to mix together for one show and it was wonderful to talk and see other forms of art and imagination in one room.

Very busy times at the moment, my workshop looks like a bombsite!!!  I am right in the middle of preparation for note one! but two!!! exhibitions.  What was I thinking!!!  The first is in November and the second is in January which I am collaborating with another artist which is very very exciting.  I will tell you more as it progresses.

So the kiln is working overtime and my hands are busy making, making, making.  Though during this time I cant help thinking that this time last year I was hiking around Ubud in beautiful Bali.   I’m hoping its not toooooo long before I’m there again.

I’m still enjoying my little boats and using the found objects to add the beauty and appeal to each one which makes them truly individual and completely unique!   At the moment I am making wall tiles and I will add shells & other found pieces to the finished glazed tile.

I love the patterns on the ties they remind me of Moorish styles.  I would love to go to Morocco one day to explore their beautiful ceramics.  But inn the meantime I must explore my own workshop and start producing more work.  I am experimenting with wall pieces, still using clay and found objects but doing it vertically in shadow boxes etc.  I will let you know how it goes…    Adios Amigos
