1st August….

IMG_0745 Good Morning August!!! I cant believe that the year is going so fast. Lots to do and so little time. I have a list of work to do this week so hopefully the nicer weather lasts so its not to cold to go out to the workshop. Where I live the coastline has a lot of basalt. Previously the site of a volcano in a past life, the rocks still line the shore and at certain times of the year, the channels have the most vivid green seaweed growing on them. Its quite beautiful against the black of the rock and fun to explore the holes and crevices for crabs etc. Its wonderful to think that fresh air and fossicking is only five minutes away in the car, great to escape when I have potters block!! Lets see if anyone else suffers fom this problem over at Mud Colony…..

Where have I been for the last couple of days?   I’ve been catching up on housework yuk!!!!   So now I will update you, I have started the little people for the boats and have written up the new schedule for the next lot of work for the 11th Dec.  I have ordered new glazes from Perth as I am so low, but the clay will have to wait till I go to Perth next, hopefully soon as I have nearly run out.  Least I get to use all the older bits and pieces that I have been avoiding.

A Day at the Beach….

Today I went to the beach for the first swim of summer. It was pretty fresh but really good. I swam and even dived under the waves for about an hour and then went for a little fossick along the beach and picked up some treasures. I didnt go very well organised though as I didnt have a bag and had to use my hat.!! Oh well it was worth it and hopefully there will be more days like it as the weather improves. Afterwards I went to a exhibition at the Stirling St. Art Centre by the Studio Potters. It is there annual exbo and was really well presented for a small group. They had some beautiful pieces all for sale, so of course I bought a piece but I cant pick it up till the exbo finishes. I will show you then.
